I thought a post about something other that pushing endless deals and discounts at you was apt today, all week my inbox has been flooded with “Black Friday” deals, my ears are filled with HUGE DISCOUNTS from the endless adverts whirling through the airwaves, literally everywhere I look its seems deals are to be had and someone is trying to sell me something! Well, as you know, here at Wander HQ we like to be a little different… so this post is not about discounts, deals or 50{e5c38ecb8d2d547bd120f432f48b6973fa9db73852aa4d3d6c4e9aa09ef1a122} promo codes! This post is about feeling good about yourself, because lets face it, no dress/bag/top or whatever will make you feel good unless you feel good about you.
We have complied our top ten list of things that make us feel good so hopefully a few of these will help you too, and we have teamed up with the Dublin based Scarf & Accessories label Softly Chosen to give you something lovely for yourself! We have a beautiful scarf from Deborah’s curated collection to give away to Wear we Wander FB fans. This beauty will keep you warm on cold evening, looks amazing as a cover up for balmy beach nights and its the perfect travel companion for any adventures as it wraps up small and light. So here we go,
10 things to make you feel good about you!
No: 1 – Volunteer – Helping others can make us feel so much better about our lives and ourselves, if your passionate about a cause, why not help them out over Christmas? If its time you lack, why not make a donation? or even donate in someones name as a Christmas present?
No: 2 – Smile – It may sound obvious, but it is something we can forget to do sometimes. Smiling during stressful situations actually triggers your brain to feel more relaxed.
No: 3 – Do a good deed – Your day can be brightened by brightening someone else’s. Bake something nice for your neighbour, co-workers or a friend, or send a nice email to all your friends. It doesn’t have to be huge gesture, sometimes it’s the thought that counts.
No: 4 – Dress for success – This may seem shallow, but its a proven fact that the clothes you wear can actually affect your confidence. Wanna feel like a boss, dress like a boss!
No: 5 – Learn something new – Nothing can make you feel as good as signing up for that class you have spent years taking about it… You,ll never know how good you are at something unless you try it.
No: 6 – Make time for exercise, just 30mins 3 times a week is enough to improve your mood and your bod! This time of year it can be hard with long, dark evening making you feel like hibernating, not pounding the roads, so maybe try and relaxing yoga class, or a challenging workout in the gym instead.
No: 7 – Stand up Straight – Standing straight makes you feel like a boss, seriously try the power pose, stand up straight, feet and legs apart, both hands on hips, take 3 deep breaths and tell yourself how bloody fantastic you are. Nothing at all wrong with a bit of self love.
No: 8 – Good Grub – Food has a very strong impact on how we feel, you eat shit, you feel shit,,, pardon my french but that’s the basics of it! Feed your soul, nourish your mind and body with good food.
No: 9 – Assume people like you – STOP, worrying about what others think! Assuming that others are focusing on your flaws will only lock your focus on what you imagine your flaws to be.
No: 10 – Get organised – even small weekly organisation goals will help you feel so much more in control we feel, managing small pieces of our lives can have a big impact over all.
So this weekend, instead of shopping, worrying about the christmas party, the endless gift list, or your list of to do’s, just focus on you and feeling good about you and others… and if you still feel the need to go out and shop, make a start on the Christmas List etc, choose carefully, buy quality and support local!
Be kind to yourself & others, stay amazing & don’t forget to eat your greens!
Love & Light
Bon x
